Three Saints Barber Shop and Shave Parlor

I've known Mike McAndrew for about two years.  We first connected on Facebook, but it wasn't until I sat in his barber chair that we put two and two together and realized "you're THAT guy!"

Like most small business owners, the shutdowns related to the COVID-19 pandemic were crippling.  In the some cases, as the state eased restrictions, businesses were allowed to carefully reopen.  As the owner of Jessup's Three Saints Barber Shop and Shave Parlor, Mike McAndrew patiently waited for "barber shops" to make the cut. Pun intented.

Week after week, he waited. Week after week, he heard nothing.  He wasn't alone.  In Pennsylvania, Barber shops, hair salons, and other personal care businesses were forced to the sidelines far longer than any of them every expected. In Mike McAndrew's case, not only was his business on hold, but so was a secret he had to keep.  A secret that would eventually elevate the Jessup barber to a statewide position in his field.  A secret that couldn't be shared until the Governor made it office.  Unfortunately, the Governor was kinda busy.

Finally, news came that Lackawanna County would go green and McAndrew's shop could reopen.  Yes, there would be some changes, but he would be open (at midnight), and he was ready!

Listen to Mike McAndrew's story of struggle, frustration, the importance of patience, and the how he plans to move forward in the days and months ahead.
