Tool Drummer Danny Carey Reveals Expected Album Release Date

Tool is officially ready for their first album release in over 12 years. After frontman Maynard James Keenan recently shared that the album was in the final steps of mixing and mastering, drummer Danny Carey is narrowing down the release timeframe.

With a few release pushbacks already to blame for the extended wait, we can’t guarantee that the album will actually come out when they expect it to... But we’ll still take whatever info we can get.

At the recent NAMM convention, a trade-only music, audio, and event tech gathering, Carey told a fan when they’re hoping to release the album. “It should be out mid-April… that's the plan anyway," he responded when asked when the album’s coming out.

As all of the recording wrapped up “months ago,” we’re expecting them to stay true to the Spring 2019 timeframe. Watch his full answer in the video below.
