Metallica have reportedly begun mixing the follow up to 2008's Death Magnetic and the new album will most likely see the light of day before the end of the year. The CD was recorded at Metallica headquarters in San Rafael, CA with producer Greg Fidelman. writer Dan Nykolayko broke the news while interviewing James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich recently about the 20th anniversary of their 1996 release Load. Nykolayko explained, "I managed to corner Lars and James at HQ before they locked themselves in the control room with Greg Fidelman to start mixing the new album."
