Dwayne Johnson Named Highest Paid Actor in Hollywood Second Year in a Row
Dwayne Johnson has had another great year.
The entertainer, 48, topped Forbes’ annual list of highest paid actors for the second year in a row.
The wrestler-turned-movie star brought in $87.5 million in the past year, Forbes reports.
The list accounts for revenue brought in by stars between June 1, 2019 and June 1, 2020, and accounts for estimates made by a number of sources.
A large chunk of The Rock’s income during the Forbes fiscal year came from his upcoming Netflix film “Red Notice,” for which he was paid $23.5 million.
The outlet also cited Project Rock, the star’s line with Under Armour.
The Rock edged out Ryan Reynolds, who came in second with $71.5 million, and Mark Wahlberg, who was in third with $58 million in revenue.
Other notable stars include Ben Affleck in fourth, who made $55 million during a big comeback year with his film “The Big Way” and Netflix’s “The Last Thing He Wanted,” and Vin Diesel in fifth, who raked in $55 million.
Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, who is at work on his television series "The End" for Amazon Prime, came in at sixth with $48.5 million.
"Hamilton" dynamo Lin-Manuel Miranda came in seventh with $45.5 million, trailed by Will Smith at eighth with $44.5 million.
Rounding out the list were "Uncut Gems" star Adam Sandler at ninth ($41 million) and the legendary Jackie Chan ($40 million).
These top-paid actors together raked in a total of $545.5 million. Netflix was the reason for much of the revenue.
